Preparing for Citizenship 12 Week Course

Starting Wednesday 28th January 2009 9.30 am - 11.30 am

If you want to apply for naturalisation as a British Citizen or for indefinite leave to remain, you will need to show that you know about life in the UK.

You must pass a “Life in the UK” test before completing your application.

This course will help you to prepare for this.

Why has the test been introduced?
Becoming a British citizen or deciding to settle permanently in this country is an important event in your life. If you are applying for naturalisation as a British citizen or for indefinite leave to remain, you will need to show that you know about life in the UK.

Who has to take the test?
You should take the test if you are applying for naturalisation as a British citizen or indefinite leave to remain (settlement) and your level of English is ESOL Entry 3 or above. If your level of English is lower than ESOL Entry 3 and you wish to apply for naturalisation or indefinite leave to remain, you will need to attend combined English language (ESOL) and citizenship classes instead.

Driving Theory Test 6 Week Course

Starting Tuesday 27th January 2009 1.00 pm - 3.00pm

The theory test is made up of two parts; the multiple choice part and the hazard perception part. You need to pass both parts to pass the theory test. You need to have passed the theory test before you can then apply to take your practical driving test.

This course will help you to prepare for this.

This course will help you learn about the theory of driving, let you practice taking “mock” theory exams and explain how to book your theory test. All aspects of the course are based on the Highway Code and road safety matters. The course is computer based and requires you to be computer literate and have a good level of reading and writing.

So if you are thinking of learning to drive and need help with undertaking your theory test, then this course is for you.
