Recent Achievements

Flower 125 project, August 2008 - in Summer 2008, a group of young men went to Lockerbrook, an outdoor activity centre in the Peak District, this programmed was organised by Tinsley Youth Project to create awareness of healthier lifestyles for young people in Tinsley. here they had a fantastic time, enjoying, orienteering, outdoor team building activities as well as loads of fun and games…

In summer 2008 we ran a varied programme including crafts, street dance, circus skills, trips to outdoor activity centres and a swimming trip. 85 individuals participated in at least one activity, including many people who we had not worked with before. People of a variety of ages and backgrounds took part and many new friendships were formed.

As part of the diversionary activities leading up to Bonfire Night, we organised activities for young people; Bowling, Ice Skating, Cinema and Laser Quest.  A wide variety of young people participated in these events.  Arshad Hussain, Adele Ward and Anne Saleh, supported the young people during the activities.  The activities were funded by South Yorkshire Police. 20 young people took part in the activities in total.

We also organised a reading workshop at the Tinsley Green as part of the national literacy week, Lynn Chapman illustrator and author came to deliver the session. 15 children took part in the workshop.

In partnership with many organisations, we organised this year’s Tinsley Fun Day, which was a great success, attended by over 400 local residents. People enjoyed crafts, music performances by local people, rides, stalls, food, animals, fire breathing and much more. People of all ages and backgrounds were able to enjoy the day and feel glad to be living in Tinsley.

We also had another successful 'Have ur say day' please click here to read about the event.
